A plastic-coated steel pipe uses a steel pipe as its base, with a plastic anti-corrosion layer fused to the inner surface through spraying, rolling, dipping or suction processes. It can also be produced as a steel-plastic composite pipe with a plastic anti-corrosion layer on both the inner and outer surfaces. The result combines the strength and rigidity of steel with the corrosion resistance and low friction of plastic.
The socket-type version has one end formed as a socket that receives the plain end of the next pipe. This connection allows pipes to be joined quickly on site and helps keep the plastic anti-corrosion layer intact at the joints, making installation faster and simpler than with conventional threaded or flanged connections.
Key features
- Steel base pipe for mechanical strength and pressure resistance
- Plastic anti-corrosion layer on the inner surface, or on both inner and outer surfaces
- Corrosion resistant – protects the steel from the conveyed medium
- Low friction – smooth inner wall reduces flow resistance and scaling
- Socket-type ends for quick, straightforward installation on site
Application areas
- Water supply and drainage networks
- Fire water pipelines
- Power and communication cable protection conduits
- Mining and industrial piping
