Steel Pipes

PE Outer and EP Inner Plastic-Coated Steel Pipe

Steel-plastic composite pipe with a polyethylene (PE) coating on the outer wall and an epoxy (EP) coating on the inner wall, protecting both surfaces against corrosion.

PE Outer and EP Inner Plastic-Coated Steel Pipe

A plastic-coated steel pipe uses a steel pipe as its base, with a plastic anti-corrosion layer fused to the inner surface through spraying, rolling, dipping or suction processes. It can also be produced as a steel-plastic composite pipe with a plastic anti-corrosion layer on both the inner and outer surfaces. The result combines the strength and rigidity of steel with the corrosion resistance and low friction of plastic.

This version is a steel-plastic composite pipe coated on both surfaces. The outer polyethylene (PE) layer offers toughness and resistance to moisture and impact, making it well suited to buried installation, while the inner epoxy (EP) layer adheres firmly to the steel and provides a smooth, corrosion-resistant bore for the conveyed medium.

Key features

  • Steel base pipe for mechanical strength and pressure resistance
  • Plastic anti-corrosion layer on the inner surface, or on both inner and outer surfaces
  • Corrosion resistant – protects the steel from the conveyed medium
  • Low friction – smooth inner wall reduces flow resistance and scaling
  • PE outer layer for external protection against soil, moisture and impact
  • EP inner layer for a smooth, corrosion-resistant bore

Application areas

  • Buried water supply and drainage pipelines
  • Fire water and industrial water networks
  • Gas and compressed air lines
  • Chemical and municipal piping systems
