Overhead insulated pipe is designed for above-ground pipelines mounted on supports, racks or building structures. It is suitable for transporting non-corrosive media such as boiling water, steam and cold water within a medium temperature range of -10°C to 130°C.
The working steel pipe is surrounded by a thermal insulation layer and enclosed in a galvanized steel outer jacket. Compared with a high-density polyethylene jacket, galvanized steel is stronger and does not easily become brittle, rust or corrode when exposed to sunlight, weather and mechanical impact – key advantages for pipelines installed in the open air.
Key features
- Wide temperature range of -10°C to 130°C for the conveyed medium
- Galvanized steel outer jacket – stronger than polyethylene and resistant to embrittlement, rust and corrosion
- Thermal insulation layer that limits heat loss or heat gain
- Designed for exposure to outdoor weather conditions
Application areas
- Above-ground district heating lines
- Steam and hot water lines in industrial plants
- Chilled and cold water pipelines
- Pipe racks and bridges between buildings
- Rooftop and exposed piping installations
