Pressure Sensor

Stainless steel (AISI 316L) pressure sensors and transmitters that convert pressure into a 4–20 mA or 0–10 V signal, for ranges up to 2000 bar, in standard and Ex-proof versions.

Pressure Sensor

Pressure sensors, also known as pressure transmitters, convert the magnitude of a pressure, and any change in it, into a standard electrical signal. Luna Flow Control supplies pressure transmitters made of stainless steel (AISI 316L) with a bottom process connection, 4–20 mA or 0–10 V output and measuring ranges from 0 to 2000 bar, in normal and Ex-proof versions. They help hydraulic and compressed air systems operate more efficiently and make process control more precise, faster and more flexible.

What Is a Pressure Transmitter?

A pressure transmitter is a sensor that measures the pressure of gases and liquids and converts the measured value into an electrical signal that control systems can read. Rather than simply displaying a pressure value, it reports increases, decreases and the size of each change, making it easy to see whether a system is operating correctly. Pressure transmitters can be used at high temperatures and pressures, for example to monitor filter contamination or the pressure in pressure vessels.

Working Principle

The pressure of the medium acts on the sensing element, and the transmitter electronics convert the resulting measurement into a proportional 4–20 mA or 0–10 V signal. Unlike many simple measuring devices, a pressure transmitter can measure both gauge (relative) and absolute pressure, so the pressure values of gases and liquids in the system can be monitored continuously. This makes it one of the most useful instruments for analysis, process control and safety monitoring.

Types of Pressure Transmitters

  • Stainless steel pressure transmitters – AISI 316L wetted parts for corrosion resistance in liquid and gas service.
  • Finger-type pressure transmitters – compact design for installations with limited space.
  • Ex-proof pressure transmitters – for use in hazardous areas with a risk of explosion.

Application Areas

  • Liquid installations
  • Gas and compressed air installations
  • Hydraulic systems
  • General industry and all systems that require regular measurement
  • Chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries
  • Technical and process equipment

Advantages

  • Standard 4–20 mA and 0–10 V signals for direct connection to PLC and control systems
  • Wide measuring range up to 2000 bar
  • Durable AISI 316L stainless steel construction
  • Ex-proof version for hazardous areas
  • Easy installation via bottom connection

Selection Tips

Choose the measuring range so that normal operating pressure lies well within it, and select the output signal to match your control system. For hazardous areas, specify the Ex-proof version. Luna Flow Control can configure transmitters according to project requirements, so please share the medium, pressure range and installation conditions when requesting a quotation.
